A Wind Turbine Technician is a professional responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of wind turbines, ensuring they operate efficiently to generate renewable energy. This role is vital in the transition to sustainable energy sources.

Key Responsibilities

• Installation: Assembling and erecting wind turbine towers, both onshore and offshore.
• Maintenance: Conducting routine inspections, diagnosing issues, and performing preventive maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Repairs: Troubleshooting malfunctions and repairing or replacing faulty components to minimize downtime.
• Safety Compliance: Adhering to strict safety protocols, especially when working at heights and in varying weather conditions.

Qualifications and Training

• University level: 1 or 2 A levels (or equivalent), for a foundation degree or higher national diploma
2 to 3 A-level (or equivalent), for a degree.

A minimum of 4 or 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades 9 to 4 (A star to C) in English and Maths.
• Apprenticeship: 5 GCSEs at grades 9 to 4 (A* to C), or equivalent, including English and maths, for an advanced apprenticeship.

Completion of a technical training course in wind turbine technology, covering safety procedures and emergency response.
