Marketing Specialist

A Marketing Specialist supports the planning and execution of a company's marketing efforts. They design effective marketing campaigns against their competitors by gathering intelligence on price information to help the internal marketing strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Campaign Execution: Design, launch, and manage marketing campaigns. Then working with teams to create promotional materials and messaging.
• Market Research & Analysis: Study market trends, competitors, and customer behaviour to gain an understanding of the wider trends, consumer behaviour to gain a strategic advantage over competitors. This helps identify new marketing opportunities.
• Content Creation: Write or collaborate on blog posts, social media captions and then make sure the content aligns with brand goals both locally and nationally.
• Digital Marketing: Tracking and optimising performance through social media and advertisements to then report to supervisors if the current marketing approach is working or requires revision. Additionally, collaboration is needed with sales teams to identify more effective branding ideas and innovatively develop the company's strategy.

Essential Skills

• Creativity and innovation: Developing innovative and out-of-the-box marketing concepts and campaigns. Additionally, understanding and maintaining brand identity across all marketing efforts.
Social media marketing: Enhance your brand’s social presence for maximum impact while also boosting interaction with both existing and prospective customers.
• Data Analysis: Data analysis is essential for assessing the success of marketing campaigns. Analysing data helps you understand consumer behaviour and determine the best methods to engage your target audience via social media, video, or other digital marketing tools.
• Interpersonal skills: You will need to interact effectively with others and build connections to ensure policies are implemented and efficiency is always achieved.
• Project management: This is vital for executing marketing campaigns successfully, meeting deadlines, and managing budgets. These skills ensure campaigns are tracked across various stages, ensuring the best outcomes.

Qualifications and Training

For entrance to a degree course in marketing or business studies, you will need 5 GCSEs including English and maths. An A-level in business studies would be essential, then English or maths may be useful.
