Key Responsibilities
• Policy analysis and development: research and analyse existing laws, regulations and industry standards, developing new policies, and working closely with stakeholders, including gov bodies, industry associations and internal teams to understand the implications of policies.
• Regulatory compliance: ensuring that the organisation complies with all relevant regulations, monitoring regulatory changes and assess their impact on the organisation as well as advising organisations on regulatory risks and opportunities to ensure legal and regulatory compliance.
• Advocacy and Lobbying: Represent the organization in policy discussions or lobbying activities with gov agencies or industry groups. Stay informed about upcoming legislation and help shape policy through strategic recommendations.
• Stakeholder engagement: communicate regulatory changes and policy developments to relevant stakeholders within the organisation. As well as acting as a liaison between the organisation and external regulators, policymakers and industry associations.
• Risk Management: Identify and assess risks and develop strategies to mitigate risks, ensuing the organisation stay compliant and avoids potential penalties.
• Reporting and documentation: preparing reports, briefings and policy documentation for senior management or gov agencies. track and document compliance efforts, regulatory updates, and any advocacy actions taken by the organisation.
